About

Ashkbiz Danehkar is a PhD student in the Astronomy & Astrophysics group of the Department of Physics at Macquarie University. Prior to taking up his position, he was a postgraduate student in the Centre for Plasma Physics of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Queen's University Belfast. He received a MSc in Plasma Physics from the Queen's University Belfast in 2009, and a MSc in Computational Engineering from the University of Rostock in 2007.

Current Research

He is currently carrying out research on plasma diagnostics and photoionization modeling of planetary nebulae. The main aim of his research is to find the nebular structure, central star characteristics, and distance in conjunction with spectral-line mapping.
